Motherwell youngster Stuart McKinstry impressed manager Marcelo Bielsa as he showed incredible bottle from 12 yards in Leeds United's cup clash.
On his full debut for the club, Scotland youth international McKinstry stepped up in the resulting shootout against Fulham following a 0-0 draw – and converted.
The Yorkshire side needed penalties to beat their London opposition in the English League Cup after being held by the Championship side at Craven Cottage.
McKinstry – who just turned 19 at the weekend and was also in Leeds' squad for their Premier League draw at Newcastle United last weekend – came on with 15 minutes to go and was nominated by Bielsa to take a penalty in the resulting shootout.
