There is just 60 days to go until the museum reopens on Friday 2 July after being closed for two years for a £6m restoration and extension.
With the renovation complete, builders H.H Smith & Sons have now officially handed over the keys of the building to chief executive Max Dunbar and staff.
A large team of specialist organisations and contractors have been involved in the large scale renovation of the museum which was funded in part by a £3m grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
