Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy pictured arriving at court ahead of rape hearing
manchestereveningnews.co.ukManchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy has arrived at Chester Crown Court this morning, ahead of a hearing. The French defende r, 27, is charged with seven counts of rape and one of sexual assault concerning five women.
He was remanded in custody following his arrest on August 26 2021 but was released on bail last month. READ MORE: Murder investigation launched and two arrested after man, 40, found dead Mr Mendy, of Withinlee Road, Prestbury, arrived at court today (February 2) wearing a white shirt, black tie, black jacket, and black mask.
He was escorted into the court building by another man, wearing a black top and beige jacket. Mr Mendy is appearing at court alongside co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie.
Mr Matturie is accused of seven counts of rape; and two of sexual assault. Both defendants are currently set to go on trial in June.
