Police were called to reports of a man with a blade on Hollyhedge Road at around 7.30pm last night (Friday). A spokesperson for GMP confirmed the man was detained at the scene.

No injuries were reported, police said. The M.E.N understands the man was first spotted near a row of shops. In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police were called to Hollyhedge Road in Wythenshawe. "This was a man reported to be in possession of a knife on the street. "Officers attended and he was detained.
