Manchester United are closely monitoring Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret as they search for a replacement for current No1 David de Gea, according to reports.
De Gea was awarded for his eight years of service at Old Trafford with a lucrative new contract last September. But the Spaniard's form has since plummeted and his numerous high-profile errors have prompted United chiefs to consider a change of shot-stopper.
Dean Henderson shone during a loan spell at Sheffield United this season and has been tipped to replace De Gea as United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-choice goalkeeper.
But the 23-year-old Englishman is set on having a starting role and will push for a move if he does not receive assurances from Solskjaer.
