Gary Lineker has revealed he once wrote an apology letter to Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson - only to receive a brutal response.
The Match of the Day host says the pair have ‘fallen out a few times’ in the past and his previous comments in a magazine interview some time ago seems to have caused the rift.
Ferguson was well known for giving his players the hairdryer treatment and following a defeat he was never the happiest of managers willing to talk to camera.
In a magazine interview, Linker discussed grumpy managers with Fergie’s name coming up in conversation but it appears the way the quotes were displayed did not sit well with the Scot. “I’m a forgiving soul and I sense that Sir Alex, er, isn’t,” Lineker told the Daily
