Manchester United have leapfrogged local rivals Manchester City for the largest wage bill in Premier League history. The Red Devils revealed a Premier League-record wage bill of £384million after last season.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Old Trafford, alongside the additions of Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, contributed to the eye-watering wage bill.
United's wage bill surpassed the previous record - that had been set by City in 2021, who shelled out £350million in wages across 12 months as they failed in their pursuit of the Champions League.
