Cristiano Ronaldo has not had the start to the season he would have wanted at Manchester United. The 37-year-old has scored just once for the Reds this campaign - a penalty in their last match away at Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League.
United's top goalscorer has been attempting to get back up to speed at Old Trafford having missed most of pre-season. Ronaldo cited personal reasons for his absence from the club's tour of Thailand and Australia.
The weekend before the players were scheduled to return to Carrington, Ronaldo informed United that he wished to leave should a 'reasonable offer' be submitted for his services. However, this lack of time on the training pitch over the summer has cost him his place in the starting XI. Ronaldo's form has been regularly criticised.
