Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a message to former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson after they were reunited prior to Sunday’s goalless draw with Newcastle.
Sir Alex presented Ronaldo with an engraved plate after he reached 700 career club goals. He brought up his seventh ton against Everton a week last Sunday, netting the winner in a 2-1 victory.
Ronaldo was handed his second league start of the campaign against Newcastle and before kick-off, he was greeted by Sir Alex, who handed him his award.
He was also joined by David de Gea, who made his 500th appearance for United and marked it with a clean sheet. The superstar played 292 games under his former United manager, netting 118 times.
