Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.
A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.
He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.
Marcus Rashford has withdrawn from the England squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers, while Luke Shaw has not yet reported for duty.
The Manchester United pair were set to join team-mate Harry Maguire in Gareth Southgate's squad for the final international break of the year but did not meet up with the rest of the team on Monday due to varying fitness issues.
Rashford, who has only recently returned from injury after undergoing shoulder surgery in the summer, will remain in Manchester in order to concentrate on regaining full fitness, a statement from the FA said.
The Telegraph also reports that the forward came down with a bout of illness last week that saw him miss training on Thursday and Friday ahead of Saturday's meek defeat
