Former Manchester City and England defender Micah Richards believes Luke Shaw should be given the "benefit of the doubt" despite his recent struggle for form.
The left-back was one of United's standout players as they finished second in the Premier League last season and he carried that form into the European Championship in the summer.
Shaw was an effervescent presence on the left for England, with his raids forward and defensive covering key in their sensational run to the final.
The United man even netted the opening goal in the final, although Italy eventually equalised and won the trophy on penalties.
