Luke Shaw has previously said Mauricio Pochettino made him feel like he was the "best player" as Argentine is linked with the Manchester United manager vacancy.
Shaw broke through the Southampton academy into the first team and progressed significantly under Pochettino. His performances on the south coast attracted United to the tune of £27million in 2014, making him the highest-paid teenager in world football at the time.
The pair could be reunited at United in the near future, if both coach and club get their way. Pochettino is currently in charge of French side Paris Saint-Germain but the MEN understands he is willing to cut his stay short in the French capital and move to Manchester to take the vacant managerial role.
