Man released under investigation after shooting on Bolton residential estate

A large police cordon spanning several streets was put in place while officers dealt with the incident.Several pathways linking Lindfield Drive and Halliwell Road were also taped off as forensics officers and plain clothes detectives worked at the scene.
A blue BMW, with a smashed back window, appeared to be at the centre of the investigation. A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries, a spokesman for GMP said.Some eyewitnesses reported hearing 'banging and shouting' shortly before.
