A dying mum was banned from seeing her children at a hospice but her pet dog was allowed to visit. Lynette St John, 42, was desperate to say a tearful goodbye to all six of her children before she lost her battle to lung cancer during lockdown in Wales.

Her three eldest sons were left heartbroken after being denied the chance to say goodbye to their mum before she died. The single-mum was admitted to the Marie Curie Hospice in Penarth, Cardiff at the start of the Covid 19 firebreak in Wales.

Hospice and Welsh Government rules allowed her nine-month old boxer pup Marley to Lynette's bedside but not all of her children.
