An "awful" sex attack on a young woman in the street in north Manchester was stopped by a Good Samaritan who intervened. A woman in her 30s was attacked in Collyhurst on Wednesday, police said today.
At around 8pm she was approached from behind by a man on Collyhurst Road and sexually assaulted. The culprit then ran off when he was disturbed by someone nearby, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
No arrests have yet been made but an investigation is ongoing. And officers are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
The attacker was wearing a black baseball cap, a big dark zipped coat, black pyjama-like bottoms and white trainers. Detective Inspector Claire Moss, from GMP’s North Manchester division, said:
