A man has died after a boat sank off the coast in Lancashire. Emergency crews were called to Fleetwood at around 8am today (Sunday) following reports three people were in trouble.
The boat, believed to be a decommissioned fishing vessel, was about a mile off the coast. Two men in their 70s were rescued from the water.
A third man, believed to be in his 30s, went down with the boat, Lancashire Police said. His body was later recovered from the water by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
Police said they believe the man was from Blackburn, but he has not yet been formally identified. His next of kin are being informed.
