A man in his 50s has died after he was shot multiple times in a possible gang-related attack outside a house party held despite the coronavirus lockdown.

The man was fatally wounded and two younger women were injured in the suspected drive-by shooting in Roydon, near Harlow, in Essex in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police were told a car occupied by multiple people pulled up and gun shots were then fired at the victims and others stood outside a home at about 5am.

The car then drove off in the direction of Harlow. Police have not announced any arrests. The victim, from Grays, was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition and he died of his injuries on Sunday.
