The French defender, 27, has been charged with four counts of rape. Three of these alleged attacks took place in October 2020 - with a fourth allegedly occurring last week.
All of the incidents relate to three women aged over 16. Mendy has also been charged with one count of sexual assault. Since being charged, Mendy has been remanded in custody in HMP Altcourse, Liverpool.
He was also charged with a bail offence but this was withdrawn by District Judge Jack McGarva at the footballer's Magistrates' Court appearance on August 27.
