Mamma Mia 3 teased as creator says 'It's meant to be a trilogy'

mirror.co.ukFans of Mamma Mia! should get very excited as it looks like they could be set to get a third instalment. The popular musical films featured a selection of iconic hits from Swedish pop band ABBA and are based on a stage musical written by Julia Craymer.
Now, Craymer has confirmed that a trilogy was always the plan for the film series. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Craymer revealed: "I think one day there will be another film, because there’s meant to be a trilogy, you see. "I know Universal would like me to do it." The film adaptation of the original 2001 stage musical was released in 2008 and saw Meryl Streep star as a hotel owner Donna who is helping plan her daughter Sophie ( Amanda Seyfried ) plan her wedding in Greece.
