Lanarkshire singer sets off on UK tour after whirlwind two years

Bellshill singer-songwriter Rianne Downey is preparing for the biggest year in her career to date.Not only is the 21-year-old heading out on her own UK tour later this year, but she is set to jet off to the USA to perform in Texas at the biggest music conference in the world - the South by South West festival (SXSW).

The former Cardinal Newman High School pupil has performed all of her life, but only really began to build a full time career in singing during the coronavirus pandemic and ensuing lockdown.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

"I was always putting shows on for my granny when I’d have a sleepover. "But I didn’t start properly trying to build myself a career and write my own songs until lockdown occurred.
