Greater Manchester vs London house prices: What you can buy for £50,000

Across the UK house prices fluctuate largely depending on where you live. When looking at what properties you can buy for the same amount across the country - the north-side divide becomes all the more evident.

And while parts of Greater Manchester are now far from cheap, house prices in London are said to be up to seven times more expensive than homes in the north.

MyLondon recently revealed London's 'smallest' flat is currently up for sale for £50k - but despite the cheap price for a life in the capital, it is really tiny. The price tag of this flat, which is set to go to auction, is just less than the average first-time buyer deposit in London which is currently £53,935, according to Halifax.
