Loose Women panel divided as Janet Street-Porter urges mask wearers to 'take them off'

The Loose Women panel, made up of Jane Moore, Katie Piper, Linda Robson and Janet Street-Porter, began the programme by discussing the recent Covid-19 update which has scrapped mandatory mask wearing.The hosts discussed the new rules, the effect they will have on the elderly population and whether or not they will continue to wear one themselves.Janet began by saying that “most supermarkets” are still asking people to wear masks and sanitise, whilst some shops are still “not bothering” which has left her feeling “confused”.“I don’t know what a mask really does now but a result of the last two years is that a lot of older people are terrified to take their masks off,” she said.The 75 year old added that she “frequently” sees people in the street wearing masks in the “open air” which makes her want to tell them “Please, take it off” as people have become “too fearful”.Janet continued: “I don’t really know what a mask does.
