German army camp training Ukrainian soldiers spied on by unknown drones
Russia has come under fire after mysterious drones appeared in the sky above a German army base where Ukrainians were being trained to fight.About a dozen drones were reportedly spotted in the late hours of September 30 and the early morning of October 1, according to Business Insider.Germany's Federal Ministry of Defense confirmed the sightings, which occurred over military grounds between the states of Bavaria and Hesse, where Ukrainian soldiers were being trained to use armoured vehicles set to be delivered to the besieged nation. READ MORE: Ukraine's sharpest shooters firing huge sniper which can hit target four miles away The ministry also stated that there was a police operation in progress near the military base when the drones were spotted.“The police were informed immediately and started investigating," a security source said."The investigations continue.”However, officials stressed that there was no danger to German citizens "at any time".While nobody has openly pointed the finger at the Kremlin, it is thought that Russia is likely behind the flurry of drones. This isn't the first time this year that mystery drone sightings have wreaked havoc on a nation.Just a few days ago a series of drones managed to infiltrate a security zone over a Norwegian oil rig, while back in January, a similar occurrence happened near a Swedish nuclear power plant.Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said: "There is increasing evidence that this was a deliberate act and we are in a very serious situation.
