Liverpool statement in full as Peter Moore pens letter to fans over furlough U-turn

mirror.co.ukLiverpool have gone back on their controversial proposal to put some of their non-playing staff on furlough amid the coronavirus crisis.
The Reds announced on Saturday that they would be taking advantage of the scheme, which would have seen the staff affected receiving 80% of their salary through the government.
The club faced a barrage of criticism following the proposal, however, with former player Jamie Carragher saying the "respect & goodwill" shown towards them had been lost, and the likes of Gary Lineker and Stan Collymore also condemning the move.
On Monday evening Liverpool CEO Peter Moore sent a letter to the club's supporters announcing the U-turn on the decision, and apologised for their handling of the situation.
