Liverpool are considering a deadline day move for Preston North End defender Ben Davies. Kop chief Jurgen Klopp is desperate to bolster his backline after a spate of injuries.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are both long-term absentees while Joel Matip and Fabinho are also sidelined. Klopp has been forced to play skipper Jordan Henderson as a makeshift centre-back and rely on youngster Nat Phillips.
