Lions have become the latest big cats to have contracted coronavirus after reportedly being infected by a zookeeper. Four more tigers and three lions have been diagnosed at the Bronx Zoo, according to operator Wildlife Conservation Society.

It said a Malayan tiger, Nadia, began coughing last month and it has since spread after the diagnosis. A spokesperson said: "We tested the tigers and lions out of an abundance of caution and will ensure any knowledge we gain about COVID-19 will contribute to the world's continuing understanding of this novel coronavirus.
