Lewis Hamilton will dive into the world of all-electric racing by launching his own team in the new Extreme E racing series.
The six-time Formula One world champion, an outspoken campaigner for the environment and sustainability, will take his first steps into motorsport team ownership to help raise the awareness of climate change.
The first race is scheduled for early 2021 and Hamilton's team will be called X44 - named after his car number at F1 constructor Mercedes.
The British superstar, who will not be driving or involved in day-to-day operations, is the biggest name to link up with the series. "Extreme E is an exciting new sustainability initiative, and this is a great opportunity to be involved from the outset as a team founder,"
