Lewis Hamilton said the “time has come for action” as he appeared to respond to the racial slur aimed at him by former F1 champion Nelson Piquet.
F1, the FIA and Mercedes are among the bodies to have spoken out in support of Hamilton following the comments that Piquet reportedly made in an interview with Brazilian media.
The interview was conducted back in November, but the comments have only just come to light. Piquet was discussing the collision between Hamilton and Verstappen at last year’s British Grand Prix, which ended with the Dutchman crashing into the barriers at high speed.
