F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone has claimed he had a “pleasant” time with Brazilian police after being caught carrying a gun while trying to board a plane.The 91-year-old was attempting to travel to Europe when the arrest occurred last month after police in Sao Paulo found an undocumented LW Seecamp 32 pistol in his luggage during an X-ray screening. Ecclestone has said he bought the firearm from “someone in Formula 1” some time ago and that it was for his Brazilian wife Fabiana as protection. He said it had been packed by accident and was not armed.
