Leon Balogun admits he’s desperate to sample Champions League football for the first time in his career. At 36, the Rangers centre-back might have thought the prospect had passed him by.
But the big Nigerian is four games away from making it a reality if Philippe Clement’s side can reach the group stage. Balogun could be restored to the Gers starting line-up against Dynamo Kyiv in Lublin on Tuesday night for the first leg of their third qualifying round clash.He replaced Ben Davies in the second half of their goalless draw with Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday.
Balogun is ready to play his part for Clement’s side after agreeing another one-year extension to his contract in the summer.
