Leigh murder investigation: Divers continue searching canal after man pulled from water with 'multiple injuries'

A man was found dead in the water near King Street in the town centre early yesterday morning (Thursday). A specialist underwater search team was called to the scene and divers have returned to the area today to continue their search.

The victim - a man thought to be in his 30s - was found with 'multiple injuries', detectives say. A man, aged 21, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for questioning.
