Chelsea star Thiago Silva always knew he wouldn't play the full 90 minutes on his return to the first-team against West Brom.

But the Brazilian also expected to play more than half an hour at Stamford Bridge.Thomas Tuchel's plan for Silva was to start the 36-year-old on his return from injury - but then replace him with Andreas Christensen.

However, a launching into a challenge on the edge of the Chelsea area, Silva was sent for an early bath after picking up his second yellow.The former PSG man can have no complaints regarding the two bookings, both of which were warranted during the Premier League's early kick-off.
