Chelsea forward striker Timo Werner was given a vote of confidence by manager Thomas Tuchel this week as his struggles in front of goal continue.
The German missed a sitter against Macedonia during the international break and with the footage going viral almost instantly, critics have taken aim at the out-of-sorts striker.
Tuchel backed Werner this week ahead of the early kick-off with West Brom this weekend. “He misses the chance and everybody is passionate to talk about it, which is a bit annoying,” the Chelsea boss said. “It’s easy to point the finger to Timo, which I will not accept.
I am happy he is back here because here he is protected.“This guy scores since he’s five years old. It’s not the moment to even train extra.
