Leeds have been priced out of moves for Derby’s Louie Sibley and Norwich’s Todd Cantwell before Friday’s domestic transfer deadline.
Leeds director of football Victor Orta has made an enquiry to Derby about Sibley, who is already established in Philip Cocu’s Rams at 19.
Orta is also tracking England Under-21 international Cantwell as he searches for the attacking midfielder Marcelo Bielsa wants.
Norwich want at least £20million to part with Cantwell, even though boss Daniel Farke has dropped him because he is unhappy with his attitude, while Derby value Sibley at around £15million.
