Premier League spent a combined £75million - Liverpool surpassed that total with Darwin Nunez alone. But even more eye-opening deals saw Rivaldo swap Brazil for Deportivo La Coruna for £5.4million.

While Dutch legend Clarence Seedorf moved from Serie A to Real Madrid for a small £3.4million, slightly more than Arsenal forked over for Marquinhos this summer.
