Jim Goodwin insisted things were taken out of his hands when Kyle Magennis was sold to Hibs. The Irishman wanted to keep his captain but his board accepted a six-figure bid from their rivals.
Goodwin, who saw his day compounded by a last-minute defeat at Aberdeen, hopes he will be given some funds to strengthen his rock-bottom side.
He said: “I had a good conversation with him last week and I told him that we could not possibly sell him in the circumstances.
We have a real lack of bodies with injuries and everything.“He was our captain and I made him our captain in the summer because I think he’s one of the best midfielders in the country.
