Kilmarnock residents tell of terror as bomb squad swoops in after man's death

dailyrecord.co.ukResidents in a quiet Kilmarnock street have spoken of their shock as bomb squad units swarmed retirement housing after a man died yesterday.
It came after the man was found dead within a property in Craigie Court in the town at around 2.25pm on Wednesday.Police attending the incident then discovered a ‘suspicious item’ within his home.The area was quickly evacuated, forcing locals out of around 35 homes and nearby road closures while investigations continued.
Residents told our sister paper, the Daily Record, they were horrified as police told them to leave their properties as ‘precaution’ while the device was being probed.
