The GMB host, 53, has been juggling visiting husband Derek in hospital, looking after her children and returning to work over the last few weeks.
Derek woke up from his coma last month after becoming critically ill after contracting coronavirus in March. Desperate to ensure that their children Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11, begin to return to normality, Kate prepared to send them to visit their grandparents - but was incredibly cautious about them unwittingly giving the virus to the elderly couple.
