Kate Garraway opens up about why Derek's doctors suggested contraceptive pill for men

Kate Garraway has revealed that her husband Derek's doctors said that the contraceptive pill could help protect men against coronavirus.

The Good Morning Britain host, 53, said that the medics had told her that the pill, HRT, could be protective in booting immunity.

This comes after a new study has suggested that women who are on the pill are less likely to develop serious coronavirus, which could help explain why men had worse symptoms.

Kate explained on GMB: "Very early on when Derek first got sick, he was still conscious and wasn't in the induced coma. "I was talking to anyone I could about what could be done to help.
