Filmmaker and actor Justin Chon's Blue Bayou is getting a high-profile 2021 summer release in theaters, Focus Features announced Friday.
The drama, a timely story about an American family fighting for their future as the father faces deportation, will hit the big screen in the U.S.
on June 25. In addition to writing and directing, Chon also stars in Blue Bayou. He plays Antonio LeBlanc, a Korean adoptee raised in a small town in the Louisiana bayou who is married to the love of his life, Kathy (Alicia Vikander), and stepfather to their daughter.
Struggling to make a better life for his family, he must confront the ghosts of his past when he discovers that he could be deported from the only country he has ever called home.
