Just three sessions a year on a sunbed could be linked to a higher risk of women developing endometriosis as well as skin cancer, scientists revealed.
Sun beds and exposure to UVA ultraviolet light not only increase the chances of developing malignant melanoma - the most dangerous form of skin cancer - but can also be linked to a greater risk of developing endometriosis, according to new research.
The study found that the risk of endometriosis increased the more young women used tanning beds, got sunburnt or used sunscreen during their teenage and young adulthood years.
But conversely, researchers also discovered that women living in areas with high levels of natural UVB ultraviolet light throughout the year were less likely to be diagnosed
