Glasgow.Vets are treating more pooches for gastroenteritis in recent weeks. Gastroenteritis is a general term for irritation of the stomach and guts, causing issues such as vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, stomach pain and dehydration.
It is unknown if specific areas are being hit harder by the outbreak.Owners are being advised to rest their mutts if suffering symptoms and phone vets if they don't clear within a couple of days.A source in the city's southside said: "Vets do not know where it is coming from but they are seeing five to six dogs with it per day!"Some needing to be hospitalised..
It is highly contagious between dogs and if not caught quickly can be potentially fatal."My wee poodle contracted it and was really very ill....
