Jonathan Woodgate has been axed as Middlesbrough boss with the club on the brink of relegation – and replaced by Neil Warnock.
Chairman Steve Gibson hit the panic button after seeing his side demolished by Swansea at the weekend falling three goals down inside 34 minutes.
Ruthless Gibson wanted an experienced veteran head to dig Boro out of their emergency and he's turned to Warnock. Woodgate told Mirror Sport this month how he'd experienced a tough season.
In his rookie year in charge he has had a low budget to spend on players, injuries to key men like Daniel Ayala and Patrick Roberts, plus seven players out of contract and wondering about their long term futures.
