John Swinney announces 61 coronavirus deaths in Scotland amid 895 new cases

coronavirus in Scotland in the last 24 hours. John Swinney announced the latest figures and confirmed new 895 positive tests were also recorded.

The Deputy First Minister and Education Secretary stepped in for First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at today’s daily briefing. He also confirmed the death toll has hit 6,383 since the start of the pandemic last March while total number of cases has reached 184,313.Currently 1,794 people are in hospital while 123 are being treated in intensive care.

The figures comes as police officers are being probed by their own colleagues for allegedly staging a lockdown-breaching bash that ended with one of them being arrested.
