Jeremy Corbyn has claimed he was given a "lecture" on herd immunity during a government briefing on coronavirus. The Labour leader made the accusation as he offered rare details of behind-closed-doors briefings offered to the Leader of the Opposition.

Mr Corbyn attended confidential meetings on 'privy council' terms at the start of the pandemic, before he stood down as Labour leader at the start of April.

He did not say who gave the "lecture", or if it was a civil servant, political aide or minister - or what they actually said.

However, it is thought most briefings for the opposition have been run by civil servants. The Mirror has asked a representative for Mr Corbyn if he can give any further detail.
