Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
James Milner has aimed a barb at Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson after the 29-year-old celebrated his ninth anniversary at the club.
Henderson, who is a strong contender to win PFA Player of the Year following his inspiration displays from central midfield, first joined the Reds in a £20m move from Sunderland in 2011.
He has been a crucial part of the first-team ever since, making a total of 359 appearances in all competitions, and he was made club captain following the departure of Steven Gerrard in 2015.
On Tuesday Liverpool tweeted a picture of Henderson kissing the Champions League trophy along with the caption "On this day in 2011, @JHenderson joined the Reds.
