Isle of Man TT suffers another tragedy as Davy Morgan, 52, dies on final lap of race

Isle of Man TT was hit by more tragedy on Monday after Davy Morgan became the third fatality of this year's competition.Morgan, 52, was on his third and final lap during the Supersport race when he crashed.

The incident occurred at the 27th Milestone on the mountain section after Michael Dunlop had already been confirmed as the race winner."It is with a heavy heart that the Isle of Man TT Races can confirm the loss of Davy Morgan following an incident on the final lap of the first Supersport Race of the 2022 Isle of Man TT Races," read a statement from the TT organisers. "We extend our deepest sympathy to Davy’s partner Trudy, his family, loved ones, and friends. "Davy was a stalwart of the TT paddock, with 2022 marking 20 years since he first competed in the Isle of Man TT Races.

Today’s Supersport Race was his 80th TT race start."Morgan was described as a "highly experienced TT competitor," who had contested every edition of the TT since he debuted in the Production 600cc race 20 years ago.

The Saintfield native was a regular fixture on the racing circuits of Ireland, as well as in the Isle of Man and Macau Grand Prix.Racing fans came to recognise Morgan's trademark pink helmet during a racing career that spanned almost three decades.
