Coconut oil is often touted as one of those “do-it-all” ingredients and, as well as in cooking, is often used as a hair and body moisturiser.
But is coconut oil good for skin? Should we really be going nuts for coconuts and slathering it all over our faces? Thankfully yes, coconut is beneficial to our complexions when used in the right way. “Coconut oil has powerful antioxidant benefits owing to its high levels of vitamin E,” explains aesthetics and dermatology nurse Emma Coleman. “This gives it abilities to stave off free radical damage, protect our skin from pollution whilst encouraging cell rejuvenation to help prevent wrinkles too.” That said, we don’t suggest you jump head-first into a vat of the stuff just yet.
