pets for five years after 37 animals including dead snakes and critically ill kittens were discovered inside his home. Alan Packenham, 39, shocked RSPCA officers who made the grim discovery at his faeces riddled property in Thornton, Sefton, Merseyside. He housed the poor creatures in "filthy, unhygienic conditions" while the snakes were left to rot away in a bedroom, inspectors said.
The RSPCA found 20 cats with most of them having fleas, three kittens, five snakes, four dogs, three ferrets and two fish, reports the BBC.
Shocking images show dirt caked across the property which inspectors said included "faeces and rubbish on every available surface".It was confirmed that two cats were located in the bathroom and three kittens in an open drawer - but three animals later died.According to the inspectors, two out of three German Shepherd dogs had been left muzzled and the ferrets were found in a mucky rabbit hutch in a conservatory. The cats and dogs were taken to one of the charity's animal centres as well as approved kennels.
