Husband charged with wife's murder after she dies during coronavirus lockdown

dailystar.co.ukA man has appeared in court accused of murdering his “lovely” wife during coronavirus lockdown. Anthony Williams, 69, was arrested after cops received a 999 call to his home in Cwmbran, South Wales, on Saturday morning.
Cops found his “devoted” wife Ruth Williams “unconscious and unresponsive” and suffering from severe head injuries. The mum-of-one tragically later died in hospital.
Williams today appeared at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court where he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth, and address in a two-minute hearing.
He will appear at Cardiff Crown Court tomorrow. South Wales is one of Britain's worst-hit coronavirus areas with over 500 confirmed cases of the killer bug.
